“…Nach dem Kupplungseingriff schnellen die acht Drosselklappen in Vollgasstellung. Mit hämmerndem Geräusch wird die Ansaugluft in die Vergaser gerissen. Der Schlag in den Rücken der Passagiere endet erst bei einer Geschwindigkeit von 74 km/h. Wenn der erste Gang ausgedreht ist. Bei der Schaltpause in den Zweiten verliert der Dino kostbare Zehntelsekunden, da der Schalthebel sauber in der Kulisse auf dem Mitteltunnel geführt werden muss. Dennoch stürmt der 308 in nur 6,4 Sekunden auf 100 km/h.(…) Bei 236 km/h und genau 7000 U/min wandert der Zeiger des Drehzahlmessers in das rot schraffierte Feld. Obwohl der Bereich der Höchstleistung schon überschritten ist, steigt die Drehzahl nochmals um 400 Touren, bis die Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 245 km/h erreicht ist. Werden jetzt die Doppelscheinwerfer ausgefahren, schlägt der Luftwiderstand den Dino um gleich 4 km/h zurück. Der 308 GT4 gehört zu den wenigen leistungsstarken Sportwagen, deren Höchstgeschwindigkeit nicht nur ein Papierwert ist, sondern in der Praxis auch Nutzbar ist. Mit Hilfe des hervorragend abgestuften und auf gute Beschleunigung ausgelegten Fünfganggetriebes spurtet der Wagen auch auf kurzen freien Strecken auf über 240 km/h. Selbst in diesem Geschwindigkeitsbereich beeindruckt der makellose Geradeauslauf.”
